About the Provider
Bon Secours Hospital Dublin is a private elective acute-care facility established in 1951, renowned for high-quality care that combines advanced medical technologies with compassion and personalised treatment.
The hospital features:
- 170 beds (including inpatient, surgical, medical, and oncology day beds)
- 4 major and 3 minor theatres
- 4 endoscopy rooms
- A cardiac cath lab
- A wide range of diagnostic and support services
It also operates a busy, consultant-led Acute Medical Assessment Unit for rapid medical evaluation and treatment. Each year, over 85,000 patients are treated by a dedicated team of more than 700 staff and over 200 consultants.
Bon Secours Dublin was the first hospital in Ireland to achieve Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation in 2002 and the first private hospital to receive Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accreditation for endoscopy in 2016. It has maintained both accreditations since.
The hospital is part of the Bon Secours Health System, Ireland’s largest independent hospital group, which includes five acute hospitals, a consultant clinic in Cavan, and a care village in Cork. In 2019, it merged with the US-based Bon Secours Mercy Health to strengthen care delivery, share expertise, and uphold its mission of providing compassionate, world-class healthcare as a not-for-profit organisation.
