Eduard Rod, M.D., Ph.D., Assistant Professor is highly skilled and trained in state-of-the-art arthroscopic surgical techniques, including shoulder reconstruction, knee reconstruction and hip and ankle arthroscopy. He graduated at the School of Medicine in Zagreb in 1995. His residency at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery Zagreb started in 1999, and he is Board-Certified orthopedic surgeon since 2003. During residency program he spent a year working in the Clinic for orthopedic surgery Lovran under the mentorship of Prof. Boris Nemec. He also finished the course of musculoskeletal ultrasound diagnostic, basic AO course and one year professional postgraduate study. During 1998. Eduard Rod, M.D., Ph.D. was trained at the Cybex center in Switzerland, after which he leads the Cabinet for isokinetic rehabilitation and diagnostics for 10 years. Dr. Rod has been practicing orthopedic surgery since 2003, with a special focus on sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, hip and knee arthroplasty, reconstructive foot surgery, biological and tissue engineering procedures and sports medicine.
In 2011 he entered the postgraduate study “Translational Research in Biomedicine” at University of Split School of Medicine.
His scientific interests are regenerative medicine, tissue engineering and translation of such strategies into clinical practice.
He has an extensive experience in diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of bone and joint systems. He regularly attends international orthopedic conferences and workshops. From 2002 until today he is a licensed medical physician of the First Croatian Football League. He is a official physician of several sports clubs, some of which are: RK Podravka Koprivnica and Teakwondo club Jastreb. Since 2018, he has been licensed medical physician of The Croatian Football Federation and a member of the medical committee of the Croatian Football Association.
